This position is responsible for entry level non-skilled general labor while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.
Applicants will be considered for any general labor type opening in any department that may include, but not limited to, processing, packing, box making, stacking, inspection, pocket loading, and or labeling. Other tasks include standing, walking, bending, stretching, climbing, pushing, pulling, kneeling, squatting, and reaching. Candidate must be willing to lift, push, carry in many areas on the production floor (weight depends on area ranging from 20 - 50 pounds). Candidate must be able to work in cold and or damp environments and these areas may have slippery walking surfaces. Candidate must be able to work overtime and weekends.
Applicants must show at least nine (9) months of experience with one employer within the last (24) months. If an applicant meets Tyson's minimum requirements for consideration, they may be contacted for an interview. Applicants who have worked for Tyson before may be considered for rehire once if they meet the locations rehire criteria. Applicants who were involuntary terminated from Tyson will not be considered. Applicants who voluntarily terminated from Tyson will not be considered for the following reasons failed to report, walked off job, job abandonment, or no call no show. Applicants from the following counties will be considered Ottawa, Kent, Muskegon, Newaygo, Oceana, Barry, Allegan, Van Buren, Kalamazoo, and Montcalm.
