SUMMARY This position is responsible for performing physical and visual inspections of product and plant systems, documenting and calculating results accurately taking corrective action when necessary (alert appropriate personnel to adjust process identify, segregate, isolate non-conforming product) and report results to management any additional assignments requested. All team members are responsible for safety. This includes but is not limited to personal safety and food safety. REQUIREMENTS Education High School diploma or equivalent preferred. Experience Minimum of 1 year experience in the Fresh Meats industry required or other QA type experience. Communication Skills Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Special Skills Must possess skills to complete Tyson paperwork ability to lead by example and motivate the hourly workforce good problem identification and problem solving skills math and organizational skills ability to read and interpret product specifications must function well under stress must have flexibility to work where and when needed. Physical Requirements Position involves heavy lifting (70 lbs. or more). Supervisory None Travel None
Decision making and personal ownership skills a must. Cross train at other Raw and RTE facilities in case of coverage needs and for possible promotional opportunities. Provide verification services in the areas of receiving, storage of ingredients and products, pest control, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP s), net weights, proper labeling, quality characteristics, and others as identified. Verification may include additional monitoring as a verification step. Conduct other inspections as required by customers, government agencies, and company procedures as directed by the Quality V.P., Quality Director or Customer Quality Leader. Support facility Food Safety Regulatory Compliance programs such as Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP), Sanitation Standard Operation Procedures (SSOP s), and Sanitation Performance Standards (SPS) via monitoring and verifying. Assure monitoring instruments i.e., thermometers, scales, etc. are accurately calibrated. Provide feedback that assists in development and enhancement of programs and procedures Obtain microbiological samples, including environmental samples and when needed, product samples. This position is primarily a 9 hours per day 5 days per week, however, it will include random days and weekend coverage. High school education or GED. Must have 3 months Quality Control experience in a manufacturing environment.
