SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of plans and/or programs to ensure the most effective utilization of human resources. Responsibilities include: provide strategic and tactical direction to field personnel and serve as the key liaison between field operations and corporate HR; ensure affirmative action, EEO, and Immigration policies and practices are effectively in place; participate in the resolution of external complaints, identify and correct risk generating patterns in EEO and AA activity through the use of available resources such as Impact Ratio Analysis, Point and Click I-9, Ethics Help Line reporting, and charge activity reports. Other duties include: facilitate and coordinate training for Team Members at all levels of the organization to include Tyson's required training and any such training warranted by circumstances affecting the business (i.e. Union Avoidance, Harassment and Discrimination Policy Training, Safety, Effective Communication skills, etc.); active involvement in promoting safety awareness throughout the organization; analyzing injury/illness rate reports to assist safety personnel in the identification and resolution of high risk areas; influence Team Member behavior at all levels in effect to promote key safety principles and mitigate risk; participate in labor negotiations and grievance resolution; fill the role of Plant HR manager temporarily if needed; gather data and develop reports as it relates to competitive analysis in HR related indicators. Additional responsibilities include assisting HRD's in the training and developing of Complex HR managers in the followingareas: Training & Development, Union Avoidance, turnover and retention improvement, HR audit, recruitment, community relations, safety and investigations.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Requires education beyond high school, including special training, vocational school and or college courses; Bachelor's degree preferred.

Experience: 5+ years' related experience; HR generalist experience in a manufacturing setting preferred.

Computer Skills: Standard computer skills.

CommunicationSkills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong presentation skills and the ability to comfortably communicate to all level of Team Members and various group sizes.

Special Skills: Well organized; understand how decisionsmade by the company stand up to legal interpretation; have the ability to make quick and corrective actions for disciplinary situations; self-starter, proactive and the ability to work independently; ability to develop relationships with all departments and Business Units; knowledgeable on production plant policies and procedures. Sound critical thinking skills. Change agent with the ability to use creativity while influencing change.

Supervisory: Position acts as a team leader, providing functional supervision for other members of the work unit.

Travel: Position will travel approximately 50%.
