This position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.


Maintain and repair all plant equipment, electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, analyze probable trouble, exercising judgement as to when repairs are needed to avoid down time Must be able to make layouts, welding, cutting, gas and arc work. Work with other maintenance personnel and assist outside mechanics on major changes and installations. Must have willing to gain knowledge of plant layout Must have knowledge of tools, parts, and equipment. Must be able to trouble shoot electrical problems, change motors, hook-ups, install belts, sprockets. Maintain and repair various production machines as instructed in Evis, Cut-up Saws, Size Grade, Cryovac, Split Line and Packing.


Education Basic reading, writing, math to be able to read layouts, blueprints instructions for repairs installations Good knowledge of mechanical, electrical hydraulics. Lockout Tagout, Electrical, Confined Space, safety training. Must maintain excellent attendance record. Good work history. Meet and maintain required job functions. Must be willing to take Dupont testing and test to current Maintenance level once hired to mechanic. Obtain Arkansas Boiler Operators License. Must have basic computer skills. Experience Special Skills Using hand, finger, arm, shoulder muscles to grasp and hold small hand and power tools to make minor repairs, adjustments. Change various machine parts as needed, change motor, installation of or major changeovers of equipment, lines, machinery. Use of leg and arm muscles required to bend, climbing to reach some equipment to change parts, make adjustment, and or major changeovers. Working inside and outside of facility as required, exposure to weather elements, slippery floor surfaces, electrical, mechanical hazards, moving objects, humid, hot or cold, wet work environment at times. Possible confined cramped working conditions. Possible exposure to strains sprains, cuts, falls, burns. All safe
