Job Description:

SUMMARY: This position is responsible for providing support to the Fleet Operations division of Tyson Foods. This position will work with an experienced supervisor to gain the necessary training and knowledge to prepare them to work alongside fleet managers. The intern will be involved in daily duties surrounding the dispatch operations of fleet trucks including; coordinating with drivers, covering unassigned loads, monitoring loads for on time delivery, manage driver safety. This position may work inside varies departments within transportation including load planning, shuttle, regional operations and other departments as the need arises. REQUIREMENTS: EDUCATION: Minimum 3.0 GPA; incoming college Junior or Senior. Supply Chain, Transportation and Logistics or other business major preferred. EXPERIENCE: Previous work history or volunteer experience preferred. COMPUTER SKILLS: Working knowledge of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. COMMUNICATION SKILLS: Strong verbal and written communication skills. SPECIAL SKILLS: Be able to work up to 20 - 25 hours per week; self- starter with the ability to work independently and in teams; Internship extended each semester pending on-going performance.
