Tyson Foods Channel Marketing Manager in Springdale, Arkansas
This position is responsible for working predominantly with the Deli Senior Channel Marketing Manager to support the Deli Sales Team in maintaining and/or building strategic relationships with target accounts in the deli channel.
This involves securing and analyzing primary and secondary research, building expertise within the deli/prepared foods industry (including any potential disruptors), understanding competitive and customer specific elements of the target customers' business, and working with the Deli Sales Team to build solutions to meet customer needs and grow their business.
In addition to the Deli Sales Team, this position may also work cross-functionally with teams in innovation, R&D, production, insights, packaging, accounting, brand marketing, shopper marketing, and sales, strategy and planning to coordinate business development programs for the customer and achieve a sustainable point of difference for Tyson Foods in the Deli channel.
This position will also assist with the development and communication of product programs and platforms for the Deli channel, including trade and consumer communication, and to work with the Senior Channel Marketing Manager and Deli Sales Team on new product and program development communication as well as management of third-party partners for creative, research and/or communication projects.
Specific responsibilities include:
Work as a team to achieve financial objectives; be a champion of Tyson’s mission, core values, and team behaviors (the 5 Cs); prepare and conduct business reviews with key Deli accounts; contribute to the execution of business and innovation plans for the Deli channel; commercialize new products to meet consumer, customer and enterprise needs; source, analyze and leverage consumer/shopper/marketing insights to support business growth initiatives; create and execute brand communication strategy to increase customer penetration; maintain a growth mindset to find effective ways to engage customers and reach consumers; monitor and measure programs; effectively communicate key initiatives and results to senior management.
Education: Business/Marketing background, Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience: 5+ years of experience including extensive experience presenting to customers; marketing experience in regard to messaging and branding to the trade, communication to the consumer, etc.; understanding of the use and application of consumer research in creation of and marketing of products and solutions. Agency experience and digital marketing knowledge are both pluses.
Computer Skills: Standard computer skills required, especially Office365.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
Supervisory: This position will not have direct reports.
Travel: 6-11 domestic trips per year.
