The expectation of this position is to provide specific production expertise to internal and external customers worldwide to improve customer performance/efficiency to meet business unit goals. Essential functions of this position are: provide hatchery expertise to external Cobb customers worldwide; provide hatchery expertise to internal customers worldwide; bring product performance feedback to business units and F&D; promote basic and practical research programs to enhance product performance; coordinate and develop publications, management guides and industry meetings; and support and execute the World Technical School.
Experience: College degree (or equivalent experience) with 10+ years of progressive hatchery experience, or advanced degree (if required) with 8+ years of progressive hatchery experience.
Accountability/Role: Advanced manager with responsibility for managing a department, work unit, brand, or medium sized facility while developing short to medium term action plans for accomplishing functional/business unit objectives. Results have a meaningful impact on the achievement of functional/business unit objectives. Leads a team(s) of managers and professionals to achieve annual objectives. Requires a high proficiency in leadership, problem solving, and ability to influence others. May include advanced technical positions that require the highest degree of innovative and conceptual thinking within a scientific discipline (viewed as an external expert in field of study).
Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office. Must be able to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals using available computer programs.
Travel: Requires extensive domestic and international travel.
Biosecurity: The jobsite is a biosecurity environment which requires showering before entering the facility and could require multiple showers during the work day. Appropriate clothing and footwear is provided by the Company. No jewelry may be worn on the jobsite except for medical ID jewelry. Must be willing to sign an agreement to avoid any avian species (chickens, ducks, birds).The Company Animal Welfare Policy must be followed at all times.
Physical: Must use safe lifting techniques. While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, talk or hear. The team member must occasionally lift and/ or move up to 25 pounds. Personal Protective Equipment Required: Team Member is expected to follow the required safety procedures and wear the required personal protective equipment.
