Job Description:

SUMMARY: This position works with all departments to develop and enhance a culture of consistent safe behavior. This position serves as a subject expert to ensure compliance with safety throughout the Processing Plant. In addition, this person must observe, track, and complete activities with employees, to reduce and eliminate work related injuries and accidents to support our health and safety goals. To accomplish this, this person will be responsible for ensuring that workers are properly trained and programs/procedures are properly implemented in company-specific and OSHA programs, safety requirements/protocols, stand downs and any other directives that come out from the safety department. This person mustmaintain comprehensive filing system for documents pertaining to compliance with OSHA. Specific Responsibilities include: Ensure Compliance with Company specific safety programs and OSHA standards. Provide advice and counsel concerning allcompany specific safety programs and OSHA programs; Conduct proactive, action based programs to reduce or eliminate work related accidents or injuries; Develop and facilitate all safety related training; Adhere to all Food safety and Quality policies and procedures, reporting any nonconformity; Assists with and train supervisors on proper accident investigations for all work related injuries and provide reports to location management; Performs all job site analysis, determineemployee exposure, and assist in developing safe work policies, procedures and inspection report forms; Performs new hire safety training; Collects and monitors safety work orders and ensures submitted near misses are addressed appropriately through the maintenance notification programs; Publishes safety audit tracking form which includes audits, cross audits, audits done with hourly employees, positive reinforcement, unsafe acts and unsafe conditions; Maintains and updatesall safety records such as: injuries, illnesses, safety statistics, using spreadsheets, graphs, charts and presentations as required and all other duties as assigned. REQUIREMENTS: Education: Bachelor's degree in Safety or related field, 2years leading safety programs in industrial setting, preferred. Safety Professional Certification, preferred. Experience: 3+ years in a safety related position or related field is preferred. In lieu of Bachelor's degree, must have 4+ years as safety leadership or safety professional preferred. Computer Skills: Standard computer skills required to include but not limited to excel, word, power point, outlook, SAP. Communication Skills: Effective verbal & writing skills to present ideas and concepts to diverse audiences from front-line to corporate leadership level. Special Skills: Strong knowledge and experience w/leading Machine Guarding, Ergonomics, PSM, Maintenance Safety; Safety Training/Implementation; High volume of accident/incident investigations to ensure proper reporting and responses are met; Strong problem solving skills, data driven with and affinity for data management; and must be detail oriented with a high level of accuracy. Travel:1-5 trips per year.
