SUMMARY: This position is responsible for operation and maintenance of the ammonia refrigeration system, HCFC systems, hot water, air compressors, waste treatment operations and their safe and efficient operations. Must be able to understand and work within the rules and standards of OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM), and EPA Risk Management Program (RMP). Must be able to work within a total team environment and be able to effectively deal with team members, members of the management team, operations personnel, as well as contractors. Must have a foundational knowledge in troubleshooting and repair of mechanical, electrical, refrigeration and other systems under the areas of assigned responsibilities. Be willing to participate in training and skill development in all areas of responsibility, and be self-motivated. QUALIFICATIONS: Education: High School diploma or equivalent. Formal training from an HVAC Technical School is a plus. RETA and IIAR Ammonia Refrigeration training is preferred. Experience: 1+ years Industrial Ammonia Refrigeration and equipment room experience in a food plant preferred; experience in the HVAC industry a plus; industrial maintenance experience a plus. Must be able to pass a HAZ-Mat physical. Computer Skills: Must have a basic working knowledge of Windows based software, such as Microsoft Excel and Word. Communication Skills: Must be able speak, read and write fluently in English; and possess a high level of written and verbal communication skills, critical thinking and problem solving skills; and interact professionally with all levels of the organization. Travel: None. Supervisory Responsibilities: None. Special Skills: Knowledge of Industrial Maintenance including hydraulics, pneumatics, PLC's, Motor Controls, and shop equipment operation desired. Experience with Air Conditioning/Refrigeration systems operation and maintenance a plus.
