Description

This position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.

Tasks

Locates sources of problems by observing machinery in operation listening for problems using precision measuring and testing instruments. Trouble-shoot analysis logical thinking skills. Removes defective parts by dismantling equipment using hoists, cranes, as well as hand and power tools. Adjusts functional parts of machinery and control instruments. Controls downtime by contributing to the team effort, by accomplishing related maintenance as needed. Basic electric knowledge of electrical components. Install and repair electrical apparatus, such as transformers, breakers, switches, receptacles, wiring, and electronic components of machinery and equipment. Maintains all equipment under the direction of the maintenance supervisor. Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results. Provides mechanical maintenance information by supplying clear and accurate information on request. Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops reviewing technical publications establishing personal networks within the shop. Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. The applicant will need to bend, twist, squat, push, pull

Requirements

Applicant must have 3 years of experience in a food processing facility. Applicant must have good communication skills, awareness, and ability to follow GMP and Food Safety guidelines. Applicant must be reliable and willing to work a flexible schedule and overtime in a cold, (-30 degree up to 115 degree) wet and humid environment. Applicant must have the ability to work effectively under time constraints. Have the capability to stand in one place for 30% of the shift (8+ hours per day), and the capability to walk throughout department for 70% of the shift (8+ hours per day).
