Description

This position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.

Tasks

The Maintenance Mechanic position has responsibilities to maintain, troubleshoot and repair a variety of electromechanical equipment in a food processing environment. This position requires proficiency in multiple skill clusters, such as basic electrical, electrical controls, fluid power, mechanical systems, welding, fabrication and manufacturing processes. The mechanic will perform troubleshooting and repair, and provide technical support for all phases of the operation. Standing, walking, bending, stretching, climbing, pushing, and reaching are required in all areas and must be able to climb up down stairs and ladders. Some positions require that you lift push pull up to 75lbs. Maintenance experience, special training, and formal education is preferred for this outlined position. Applicant must have strong communication skills to be able to understand technical training manuals.

Requirements

The applicant must have been employed in a general mechanical capacity for a period of at least (3) three consecutive months with a single employer within the last 12 months or either completed or currently enrolled in an accredited maintenance course. Applicant must live in the following counties to be considered Douglas, Sarpy, Cass, Saunders, Washington, and Dodge in NE. Pottawatomie, Mills and Harrison in IA.
