This position is responsible for operating machinery to ensure the continuous flow of product thru the production process. Responsible for monitoring and adjusting machine settings as needed and notifying supervisor if machines should require maintenance while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.
Sets up grinding equipment, loads meat and coarse grinds into blender, blends product in accordance with specifications, reads gauges and dials, adjusts mixing times, records downtime and reasons, uses proper lifting techniques to avoid injury to themselves and others, wears appropriate personal protective equipment, operates pallet jack, follows Tyson USDA safety and sanitation rules, performs other duties as required or assigned.
Requires the ability give, take and interpret verbal and written instructions, reports, records and other documents sufficient mathematical skill to perform arithmetic functions using decimals, fractions, multiplication and division ability to read and understand English and metric weights, measures and measuring instruments, sufficient analytical ability to interpret and use data, check reports, forms, records and comparable record keeping devices and make decisions from several alternatives, pallet jack certification and sufficient physical ability to vertically move product weighing 50-80 lbs. and carry a distance of 15 ft. frequently, horizontally exert force up to 70 lbs., climb steps ladders, tolerate heights up to 25 ft., exert grip forces of 40 lbs. occasionally, walk up to 3 miles during shift, push pull containers, sufficient near, far color and depth perception vision to perform operations. Must have 3 consecutive months work history within the past 12 months.
