Description

This position is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing and providing technical support for machine systems while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.

Tasks

Maintain and repair all cages used in Live Haul operations, must be able to exercise judgement as to when repairs are needed to avoid downtime. Must be able to use grinder, cutting torch, welding, this includes gas and arc work. Work with other maintenance personal and assist on major changes and installations. Must have good knowledge of Live Haul layout, tools, parts, and equipment. Working inside and outside of facility as required, exposure to weather elements, slippery floor surfaces, electrical, mechanic hazards, moving object, humid, hot or cold, wet work environment at times. Possible confined cramped working conditions. Possible exposure to strains sprains, cuts, falls, burns. All safety equipment (PPE) mandatory. Hearing protection when exposed to excessive noise levels for extended periods of time. Safety glasses (appropriate to task at hand) gloves, arm protection when welding, welding hood, should wear appropriate foot protection. Exposure to chemical solutions, must be able to read and understand MSDS. Using hand, finger, arm, shoulder muscles to grasp and hold small hand and power tools to make minor repairs, adjustments. Use of leg and arm muscles required to bend, climb, make adjustments.

Requirements

Basic reading, writing, math to be able to read layouts, instructions for repairs installations. Must be able to use grinder, cutting torch, welding this includes gas and arc work. Must maintain excellent attendance record. Good work history. Meet and maintain required job functions. Applicants must be from Madison, Carroll or Boone County. Must not own, possess, or otherwise maintain any domestic, wild or exotic fowl (non-commercial) species while employed by Tyson Foods. Must have at least 3 months work history within the past 6 months to be eligible to apply.
