Description

This is a driver position responsible for the transport and delivery of freight on time in a professional manner by driving diesel-powered tractor trailer combinations short and long distances, while complying with Department of Transportation rules and regulations, maintaining a safe work environment, and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.

Tasks

Applicants will be considered for the Shuttle CDL Driver position. Applicants must be willing to Stand, walk, bend, stretch, climb, push, pull, kneel, squat, and reach. Applicants must be willing to lift 50lbs. in many areas (weight depends on area.) Team Members who hold these positions must be willing to work in either cold, damp or hot, humid environments and these areas may have slippery walking surfaces. Team Members who hold these positions must be willing to work in either cold, damp or hot, humid environments and areas of operation may have slippery walking surfaces. Team Members who hold these positions works out doors in extreme heat and or cold conditions and also requires driving during inclement weather and areas of operation may have slippery walking surfaces.

Requirements

Applicants will be considered for any DOT Driver opening on evening or night shift. Applicants will be considered for any opening in live haul. Applicants must be able to maintain operational records, must report any safety concerns to supervisor, must maintain DOT records daily and must maintain compliance with OSHA, DOT, and EPA regulations. Applicants who have worked for Tyson before may be considered for rehire three times. Applicants that do not show up on time for the interview, tour, pre-employment drug test, post offer health assessment, orientation, or fail to reschedule any part of the pre-employment process unless arrangements are made in advance must wait a minimum of 3 months to reapply for any of the aforementioned reasons. Applicants that have a positive or adulterated drug screen or who are unable or refuse to give a sample will not be considered further and must wait a minimum of 6 months to reapply. In addition to the aforementioned requirements applicants must be 21 years of age and have at least one year of driving experience. Applicants must have a valid Class A CDL.
