Tyson Foods Finance Analyst, Shopper Marketing in Chicago, Illinois

The Financial Analyst position will be responsible for managing the process from inputs to execution for the Shopper Marketing program analyses. These processes include analyzing and reporting data across multiple brands, business units, and retailers. This role provides the opportunity to make program recommendations intended to optimize the overall Shopper Marketing function’s ROI. This role will also assist the Finance Manager with budget management, invoicing, reporting and analysis, and assistance towards in-scope ad-hoc projects across the Shopper Marketing team. This position reports to the Shopper Marketing Finance Manager and will have cross-functional collaboration with the Business Unit Finance and Analytics Teams, Shopper Marketing Managers, and key Shopper Marketing Agency partners.
• Lead the business performance management and analysis via on-going ROI measurement to evaluate the effectiveness of the Shopper Marketing investment
• Leverage and analyze various data sources which include: Shopper Marketing program results, budget databases, syndicated data sources, and other proprietary Tyson Foods Category Leadership research to make recommendations to improve Shopper Marketing programs efficiencies
• Collaborate with brand and brand finance on yearly forecasts, monthly and quarterly processes, and any ad-hoc-related requests
• Maintain current reports on internal SharePoint site, ensuring data is accurate and organized for ease of navigation
• Perform special projects or assignments as requested
• Manage personal T&E budget
Bachelor's degree is required in an academic field directly related and essential to the finance skill set required. An understanding of different finance business models (one is fixed budget, one is based on accruals that fluctuates frequently during the course of the fiscal year). High level of proficiency with using IRI or Nielsen databases.
Experience: 2+ years of relevant experience, preferably on manufacturer-side and with a branded, consumer-goods company, or combination of supplier-side and manufacturer-side experience. Food industry experience is a plus. Demonstration of strong analytical and financial acumen, project planning and management skills, interpersonal skills, a total business orientation and an ability to thrive in a multitasking environment. High level of organization, flexibility and collaboration.
Communication Skills: Effective presentation, verbal and written communication skills.
Computer Skills: Advanced skills in PowerPoint, Excel, Access. Exposure to CPG industry and CPG companies.
Travel: 2-3 domestic trips annually.
Preferred Qualifications: MBA preferred or the equivalent in a related field (business or social sciences). Exposure to the CPG food industry.
