Description

This position is responsible for operating machinery and could include ongoing production flow while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.

Tasks

This position is responsible for the care of the turkeys to minimize DOA s and maintains responsibility for live haul tractor and trailers. Good mechanical skills preferred. Applicant must be able to communicate effectively with other drivers, growers, loading crews, Farms personnel and perform other duties as necessary and as assigned by supervisor. Must adhere to all guidelines in the Tyson Fleet Safety Manual and follow all DOT driver regulations. This position requires the ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds, sit for long period of time, pass annual hearing test, corrected 20 20 vision and possess free use of all limbs or equivalent use of prosthesis. This position will be exposed on a routine basis to adverse temperatures ranging from hot warm 80-100F degrees, damp and dusty to cold 0-40 F degrees, damp and wet. Applicant must be able to panel or tarp completed trailers in these conditions.

Requirements

Live haul driver must be at least 23 years of age with no DUI DWI conviction in the past eight (8) years in a personal vehicle and never in a commercial motor vehicle. Must have and be able to maintain a valid Class A CDL driver s license in Iowa and have a good driving record in accordance with Tyson Fleet Safety Manual. Must have a minimum of one (1) years of verifiable full-time DOT-regulated driving experience and minimum 3 months work experience with single employer in the last 12 months. All job offers are based on the conditions that the candidate can pass a urinalysis screening, which is part of a post-offer health assessment and a DOT physical.
