Description

This position is responsible for the transport and delivery of freight on time in a professional manner by driving diesel-powered tractor trailer combinations short and long distances, while complying with Department of Transportation rules and regulations, maintaining a safe work environment, and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.

Tasks

Must be able to communicate clearly with management, customers, and Team Members in person and in writing regarding work assignments for this position. Must be able to read and understand company policies and DOT rules and regulations. This position requires basic math skills to complete DOT and company required records necessary for this position. Properly maintain a driving log. Conduct a thorough pre-inspection of the equipment and submit a written report on the condition of the tractor and trailer at the end of each trip. Report all accidents or incidents involving driver of company equipment. Must be able to climb in out of truck using 3 points of contact, and climb ladders and stairs. Must be able to drive, shift gears, walk, bend, stoop, twist, reach, lift 25 to 50 pounds, and repeat all essential functions throughout the shift. Perform all duties in accordance with company policies and procedures and comply with all federal, state, and local regulations for the secure and safe operation of a commercial motor vehicle. Must follow all DOT rules and regulations in addition to all Tyson Foods policies.

Requirements

You must be 21 years of age and have at least one year of driving experience. You must have a valid Class A CDL. Your application is only active for the current month in which you applied. You will need to reapply next month to have an active application and be considered for employment if not called within the month that applicant applied.
