This position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.
With minimal supervision provides industrial maintenance support to ensure the safe and effective operation of a state of the art, team based and highly automated meat processing facility located in Kansas City, KS. The Maintenance Technician-Refrigeration, safely operates and performs a variety of maintenance activities including corrective maintenance (MC), Preventative Maintenance (PM) and Predictive maintenance (PdM) for various industrial systems including but not limited to plant utilities, ammonia refrigeration, HVAC, steam, water, gas, waste water, compressed air, and building systems. Must be able to safely apply knowledge and troubleshooting skills to all assigned facility systems and the ability to effectively interact with all plant personnel to accomplish plant and individual goals. This position will be exposed to a cold damp work environment with temperatures ranging from 28-42 degrees. Must be willing to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in a fast paced environment and requires repetitive motions.
You must have previous of work history to be considered for this position in a manufacturing environment. Applicant must be willing to work currently available shift(s), overtime, and weekends if required. Be able to bend, twist and stand for long periods of time. High School diploma or GED required Associates degree or equivalent certifications in mechanical and or electrical field preferred RETA certification strongly preferred 5+ years experience operating, maintaining and improving industrial ammonia refrigeration and utility systems Solid understanding of industrial electrical electronic systems including VFDs (Variable frequency drives), motor controls and 3 phase AC power MCCS experience a plus Excellent demonstrated comprehension and troubleshooting skills relating to motor control systems, pumping systems, 3 phase industrial electrical systems and mechanical systems Demonstrated knowledge and experience maintaining, repairing and rebuilding complex equipment Advanced mechanical skills including power transmission, pneumatic, pumping and fluid transfer, steam generation and troubleshooting techniques Strong electrical knowledge and PLC controls experience preferred Ability to use schematics and blue prints to troublesho
