Job Description SUMMARY: Responsibilities for this position include: design and initiate layouts for robust box handling projects for plant management and engineering; develop the scope of work and details for box conveyance, high-speed sortation, box palletizing, box storage and box shipping systems; develop and prepare construction documents for assigned projects; evaluate, recommend and design cost effective solutions; develop short and long term plans for efficient operation and improvement of material handling systems and equipment; partner with plant maintenance organizations to ensure proper operations and maintenance procedures are in place for the equipment and process. Ensure the equipment and systems installed are safe and ergonomically appropriate for all team members.
Education: B.S. in Engineering or equivalent experience.
Experience: 5+ years’ experience in material transport systems for the industry preferred. Overall industry knowledge.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Computer Skills: Knowledge and use of computer programs, spreadsheet, database and scheduling programs. Microsoft exposure preferred.
Specific Skills: Capable of working on multi-faceted projects of any magnitude while requiring limited supervision; demonstrated ability to complete complex projects on time and on budget; good knowledge of a variety material handling concepts, practices, and procedures. General knowledge of structural steel design as it relates to material handling installations. General knowledge of electrical/control concepts for material handling installations.
Travel: Frequent travel is involvedup to 40%.
